More details about the 2012 Peace River Film Festival:


The 2012 Peace River Film Festival program extends over 4 days in 2 different venues. Forty-three films will be screened and short talks on the film making process will be presented.

On Thursday evening, September 20th, at 7 PM the Festival begins with a cartoon short and screening of the winner of the feature film category followed by a Hollywood party featuring the Boogiemen at the Charlotte Event and Conference Center.

 Friday evening at Edison College starts with a short presentation by Keith Tracy on the art of writing stories for the screen. Friday’s offerings include more than 4 hours of film shorts from our Open Short Films category. From 7 PM to 10 PM we will show 8 short films appropriate for all audiences. From 10 PM to 11 PM we will screen 3 short films appropriate for adult audiences with some violence and nudity.


Saturday evening’s offerings from 7 PM to 11 PM at Edison College will include 2 short films and 2 feature films. David Lepage will also present a short talk on shooting a film for the screen.

Sunday afternoon from 2 PM till 4 PM at Edison College 9 short films including films from the Cell Shot film category will be screened. Pat Mitchell, a local film maker, will also present a short talk on the importance of sound in the film making process.

Sunday evening from 7 PM to 9PM at Edison College 8 short films from the Florida Short films category will be screened. Elizabeth Billings will also present a short talk on the role of the Producer in the film making process.
