The Peace River Film Festival is located in Punta Gorda, Florida. This film festival, founded in 2011, was Charlotte County's first film festival. In 2011 we honored Michael Uslan, Executive Producer of the Batman and Dark Knight movies, with a Lifetime Achievement Award. We also held the first ever global flash mob film screening and competition. This year we will be introducing a new category for films shot with cell phones.
The 2012 Peace River Film Festival will take place on September 20-23 at the Charlotte County Event Center and Edison State College Charlotte campus auditorium in Punta Gorda. Tickets may be purchased in person, online or over the phone from the Visual Arts Center and at the Event Center.
On September 20 we will feature a gala event at the Charlotte County Event Center. From September 21st to 23rd we will be screening features and short films at the Edison State College Charlotte campus auditorium.
